Happy Birthday, Dad
It's my father's birthday today, rounding out my family's birthdays for the year (Magge can now put down her color pencils for a few months). Following our post-Communist adventure in Skopje, we're in Dubrovnik, which makes for a much better birthday sign location. Sorry again, Colin. See you in ten days, Dad.

Happy birthday, Mike! Love ya, xo
ReplyDeleteThis drawbridge and surroundings look like it could have come out of a Walt Disney movie such as Pinnochio.
See you soon!
Happy Birthday dad!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure dad will love it.
The bridge looks a lot like a castel. I know its not. It's really nice that you thinking of dad too.
Liam, the whole city looks like a castle from the outside. It's completely surrounded by stone walls hundreds of years old, and there are forts and towers spaced out along the walls. It's really cool - you would like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff and Magge.
ReplyDeleteColin, I will share my nicer pics with you.
See you in Rome.
Happy Birthday Dad! Are there any actual castles in the area?
ReplyDeleteKiersten, I don't think there are any castles around here. Dubrovnik was a republic, not a kingdom, so there weren't any nobles building fortified homes. The wealthy merchants had nice homes within the city homes. There are lots of forts, though.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Mike!
