Requisite Eiffel Tower Pictures

We've got a lot to post on our time in Normandy, and I still have to write about our visit to Versailles.  However, it's late here, I'm sitting in a hotel lobby, I just watched the Vols lose to Florida for what seems like the tenth straight time, and the woman next to me is humming what I assume are songs by Justin Beiber.  So, I'll just post some pictures of the Eiffel Tower to prove we really were in Paris and then get to bed.

View while walking up

  1. View walking up is taken during the day time but the pictures of Jeffrey in front of the Eiffel tower are at night time. Taken on two different occasions?

  2. The night pictures are great. Our first night in Paris we ate dinner on the Eiffel Tower, I will never forget sitting there looking over the Seine and the rest of the city all magically lite up. Your pictures make me think of that night

  3. Mom, we went at night only to find out you can't take the stairs after sunset (stairs are half the price of taking the elevator). We came back during the day to climb the tower.

  4. Ah! Paris the magical city.
Good you both are young, wanting to climb the steps at the Eiffel Tower. I climbed the Washington Monument in DC about 6-8 times in the 1960's when I was younger. I kept up with you young'uns farily well on the NOrmandy trip though.

  5. That's what you say, Lee. You are pretty fit but still I wonder if the young'uns will play along and keep it under wraps as to how well you were able to keep up with them. :) I must admit you were a really good trooper to have gone to Normandy all alone. Now, I am waiting to see all those Normandy pictures with Lee in them.

  6. Ah, la tour eiffel! France me manque, which means I miss France. I remember my first time visiting the Eiffel Tower, and I walked up too. I was travelling alone and went with the cheaper option. I went back a year later with my mom and Nathan, and we were able to take the elevators. Got to love travelling with family! I don't know if you saw on your way up, but I remember a sign saying there was a race up the Eiffel Tower, running I think? Can you imagine? I barely made it up walking!
