Happy Birthday, Joshie!

Just wanted to wish my favorite big bobo a happy 31st birthday! (Sheesh, you're old)

Jeff and I got really lucky this morning:
I tried to take this picture from the balcony where we were having breakfast and the owner offered to let us go up to the roof of the building so we could get a better shot.

The volcano you see in the background is El Misti, which last erupted in 1985.

A better shot of the sign, but not as good background

A couple more shots of the Plaza de Armas from the roof. These are very exclusive shots!

  1. Just sent this to Joshie, very dear, he will love it. You are going to wear those pastel markers out soon. Should I put them on the list to include in the suitcase Noah is providing for our Santiago trip? The Plaza pictures are fabulous, I can see why you two are taken with the city! Glad to see someone in shirt sleeves, we are wearing three layers every where in the eastern half of the US! Raise a glass to Joshie tonight, we will raise one to the two of you at dinner with him tonight! Love ya

  2. Yes! Happy Birthday Josh! Mags ... I agree with your mom. So awesome that you are wearing short sleeves. It is SOOOO freaking cold here! I wish I could join you on part of your adventure. Too bad I am married to a penny pinching student. :) Gotta love him!

    Miss you TONS!!!

  3. Happy 31st Birthday, Josh! Magge's signs are becoming more and more intricate in design.

Peyton - Yes, it's me again, girl! You could join Magge and Jeffrey the week(s) Alex has to study hard and does not want to be disturbed.;) You are a hard-working gal. You deserve to treat yourself to a little adventure. What say you? It will make everybody happy.

  5. Let's all just meet them somewhere. Wine for all!
This chance does not come around often. So we have to put our other life on line, so WHAT!
I love all of this. It take me away form all the H1N1 flu clinic I have to participate in. Take me away Calgon.

  7. WOW! I am tempted ... let me know dates! :) I will have to see how they work out with our travels across the USA ... when I say that, I mean Philly to Cincinnati to Dallas to NYC to Houston.

Mags ... I know you are so jealous of our exciting travels compared to yours!!! HA HA!

  8. Three posts and Peyton you left great messages on the previous two. I can't wait to hear what you have to say to Marcia's proposal, even Lee is enthusiastic about it. OOOO, I am so excited! Hiking, sandboarding, sightseeing, eating offal, etc., lots to do. Are you checking it out first before posting an affirmative answer?

  9. Don´t mention exotic foods to Peyton - she´s being adventurous if she eats something other than chicken fingers or a burger, so I dont want her getting scared away by the food.
Peyton, I am definitely jealous of the amazing locations you will be visiting throughout the U.S.
I think it would be cool if you met us in Croatia, I think you´d like it there.

  10. @Peyton & @Lucie - Thanks to both of y'all for the birthday wishes.

Sis, that sign is awesome. Thank you so much. It put a smile on my face (despite the fact that I am getting old). The buildings behind you are absolutely beautiful. What kind of digital camera are you guys using? I am going to be reposting that picture with the sign you made in my Live Journal.

  11. Peyton -- we leave for Santiago February 25 and return March 6. Vietnam we are going tentatively June 4-12, Croatia is not set yet, sometime in early August I think is what we are targeting.....I will feed you chicken fingers I promise, no offal, and plenty of wine. What's not to like - beats the heck out of Cincinnati! :0)

  12. Josh, you are not old at all. As a matter of fact you look very youthful. Magge should be very kind to you because she is right behind you pushing you up the mountain of venerability. Even her splashing oodles of pomegranate or cocoa bean scrub on her face and body won't delay her arrival. LOL

  13. Marcia ... Croatia would be my best bet timing wise. Let me know when you decide on dates.

    Croatian chicken fingers sound delicious!
