A Little Bit of Home

One thing I have learned during my time with Jeff is that home is much more about where your family is than where your house is.  Lucky for us, we were able to have a little bit of home when we visited my stepsister, Rachel, and her boyfriend, Gonz, in Viña del Mar this past week.

While Jeff and I have gotten along almost shockingly well over the past three months just the two of us (no blood has been shed... yet), we were both very excited to get to see some familiar faces.  Rachel and Gonz certainly made us feel at home, as we enjoyed an amazingly comfortable bed (very much needed after a 23 hour bus ride) and some fantastic food.
Rachel and Gonz made us an awesome grill-out dinner

Had to include a shot of Jeff's awesome new haircut.
We don't need to worry about any would-be muggers with him looking like this!

  1. Rachel seems adept and comfortable at grilling al fresco! I didn't see any cuy on the food plate though. What meat did she grill? I see lots of good veggies. Is the first picture a view from Rachel and Gonzalo's home?

  2. I didn´t put a caption under the photo because I couldn´t get it to line up and Jeff gets mad at me when my captions don´t line up. The picture was taken down by the beach, about a 15-20 minute walk from their place.
We had some yummy sausage, and some other beef, along with green peppers, zucchini, and pineapple - the pineapple was my addition! :-D

  3. You know it is so interesting, I felt so warm and peaceful when I knew the four of you were together last week. If I cannot be there to hold you I want you to be able to hold each other. Enough sappy, but I had to say it

  5. Now now Magge, could Jeffrey not help you line up the caption under your photo? You have gotten along just spectacularly so far you don't want a little thing such as not placing a caption just right start a fight between both of you. :)
No wonder Rachel loves her place in Chile. That's a delicious sight.

Rachel - when your dad comes to visit I am pretty sure he will want to taste some type of fish dish such as dissostichus eleginoides. Are you up to it, Lee? :-D

  7. Yes I will try any fish as long as it has been put over some heat.

  8. Jeff, I'm loving the new hairdo! Now all you need to do is shave your beard into some friendly mutton chops, and you'll be a shoe-in for the Villian role in any Steven Seagal movie!
